Baptism. Rom. 6. 3, 4; Acts 10. 47

1 Father of heaven, we thee address;
  Obedience is our view;
  Accept us in thy Son, and bless
  The work we have to do.

2 Jesus, as water well applied
  Will make the body clean,
  So in the fountain of thy side
  Wash thou the soul from sin.

3 Celestial Dove, descend from high,
  And on the water brood;
  And with thy quickening power apply
  The water and the blood.

4 Great God, Three-One, again we call,
  And our requests renew;
  Accept in Christ, and bless withal
  The work we’ve now to do.
